What's changing
SmartPDF tightens validation on ZUGFeRD 2.x documents. Minimum and BasicWL profiles will no longer be accepted and will be rejected instead of falling back to PDF processing.
Why now
This change aligns your business with Germany's e-invoicing mandate. When a supplier sends a ZUGFeRD file, we expect it to meet compliance standards. Minimum and BasicWL profiles don't qualify as valid e-invoices under the mandate, so we reject them.
What your suppliers will see
Suppliers sending Minimum or BasicWL profiles receive an error message.
How to respond to suppliers
Let them know SmartPDF now requires compliant ZUGFeRD profiles. Ask them to upgrade to the EN 16931 or Extended profile , which meets mandate requirements.
