Release: 25.8
A new PDF viewer is now enabled in Tasks, Documents, Invoicing, and Accounts Payable, delivering significant improvements in invoice processing experience and security.
Key features and improvements:
- Superior rendering quality: One of the most notable enhancements is significantly improved rendering quality and reliability. Unlike the previous PDF viewer, which occasionally failed to display all text correctly, the new PDF viewer ensures that all text and other elements are displayed accurately.
- Improved viewing experience: Usability is optimized, including the prevention of unnecessary side panel openings, addressing the issue present in the previous PDF viewer.
- Streamlined text selection: An intuitive inline menu appears when selecting text within a PDF, enabling effortless copying with just the mouse.
- Security enhancements: The new PDF viewer includes important security enhancements that provides better protection than the previous PDF viewer.
- Hyperlink management: For heightened security, hyperlinks within PDFs can be disabled according to your needs. There is an existing tenant setting "PdfHyperLinkEnabled" that controls whether the hyperlinks are enabled or disabled in PDFs. This setting was already available with the previous PDF viewer and will continue to work the same way with the new PDF viewer. To change value of this setting, please reach out to your Basware consultant or Basware Support.
- Multilingual support: All texts and actions within the new PDF viewer are displayed in the user’s language. Previously, they were always in English. This improves usability for non-English speakers. The content of the PDF file itself remains unchanged.
- Enhanced PDF editing: AP clerks can rotate and delete pages more smoothly when editing PDFs. While these actions were previously available, the new PDF viewer significantly improves ease of use. The Document Editor is now easily accessible from the PDF viewer's toolbar for AP clerks with "Manage received invoices" user right and when the invoice status is Received.
