Release: 26.5
Feature Overview
It is now possible to set a default view, Professional or Simple, for the purchase requisitions, orders, goods receipts, contract documents and tasks at the organization level. This default applies to any user who has not personally chosen a view preference in their User Settings.
Why it matters
This update gives organizations more control over the user experience. You decide what view users land on before they configure their own preferences. By setting the Professional View as the default, you can ensure your team immediately benefits from the latest, most advanced interface for managing purchase tasks and documents.
What's New
We have introduced a new setting that allows configuring the default view of tasks and documents for personal users at organization level.
- Who is affected by this setting: Any user — new or existing — who has not explicitly set a view preference in their User Settings. Users with a personal preference already saved are not affected; their individual setting always takes priority.
- Existing users with no personal preference set: If your organization level setting is changed to Professional View, these users will see Professional View after the change. Review your user base before changing the organization level setting if you want to avoid unexpected view changes for existing users.
- Default value for existing organizations: The organization level setting has Simple View as the default. No change occurs unless the setting is explicitly changed.
- User choice: Individual users can always override the organization default by setting their own preference under User Settings.
Who benefits
Organizations controlling rollout of the Professional view and any user without a manually set view preference.
Where to find it
The new setting is available in the tenant settings. Personal users can continue to manage their own view preferences under User Settings.
Note that the organization level setting and user settings for AP professional views are seperate and are not impacted in any way with this change.
