Admin users now have option to show notifications or make announcements to Marketplace users.
User having Community administrator or Buyer adminisrators rights will be able acess Announcements page. They will be able to add and delete the announcements from the page.
The announcement page can be accessed from clicking cog icon in ‘Announcements’ section in Community Management and Organisation Management.
Buyer admins can view their organisation’s announcements through Organisation Management. Community admins can access community-level announcements via Community Management and may also be able to access organisation announcements for the organisations within their communities.
Following are the fields available on the ‘Create Announcements’ page:
Title: Title signifies the title of the announcement. It is the mandatory field and can have maximum 120 characters.
Start date: Start date signifies the start date for the announcement. It is not a mandatory field. It can be used to schedule the message to appear at a future time.
Expiry date: Expiry date signifies the expiry time for the announcement and will be in . Messages auto-expire after the expiry set date and are deleted one month post-expiry from the Announcements section. It is the mandatory field.
Users: Users list have 3 types of users:
Logged-in users: The Admin users will receive the message and it will be shown on the Admin dashboard
Shopping users: The shopping users will receive the message on the shop landing page.
Quick source users: the Quick source users will receive the message and it will be shown on the Quick Source dashboard.
Organisations: It shows the list of all the organisations in the community. This field is only available on the announcement page of Community Admin and is the mandatory field. Maximum 10,000 organisations will be shown and Community Admin can select all by clicking select checkbox given with the results found.
Message: Add the message to be shown to the users in the message section. Announcements can include markdown text and URLs in the message section. Maximum character to add announcement is 10,000 characters.
Add button adds the announcement to the Create Announcement page and publishes on the relevant pages to be shown to the selected users.
The Admin can delete the announcement before the expiry date and it will remove the message from the pages it has been published. The announcement cannot be edited, the Admin needs to delete and create new if needed.
