Data Access API Enhancements: Improved Visibility for Audit and Compliance

We’re pleased to announce new enhancements to the Basware Data Access API, with additional tables now available for both Insight Essentials and Insight Pro. These updates are designed to improve transparency, strengthen governance, and help customers meet increasing audit and compliance requirements.

Why This Matters

Customers are facing growing audit and regulatory demands that require clear visibility into user-related activities such as user access, group memberships, role assignments, and administrative permissions. Until now, this information was not available through the Basware Data Access APIs, making it difficult for customers to provide complete and standardized audit evidence.

By making this data available through the Data Access API, customers can now:

• Meet regulatory and audit obligations (e.g., SOX, GDPR accountability)
• Provide auditors with consistent, verifiable evidence
• Strengthen internal governance and access controls
• Reduce manual effort during audits

New User and Administration Tables Added

The following tables are now available in both Insight Essentials and Insight Pro, enabling improved access and audit reporting:

• ADM_USER_GROUP
  Provides visibility into defined user groups, supporting role-based access reviews and governance reporting.
• ADM_USER_GROUP_MEMBER
  Enables tracking of user-to-group relationships, helping customers demonstrate who has access to what and why.
• ADM_USER_ADMIN_PERMISSION
  Exposes administrative permissions assigned to users, supporting segregation-of-duties checks and privileged access audits.
• ADM_COST_CENTER
  Supports financial accountability and reporting by linking users and transactions to organizational cost structures.

Together, these tables help customers build a complete, API-driven view of user access and administrative control, closing critical compliance and audit gaps.

Additional Enhancement

In addition to the new tables, we have added the RESOURCE_ID column to the PE_PROCESS_TASK table. This enhancement improves traceability between process tasks and underlying resources, supporting deeper operational and audit analysis.
