Choose whether Basware or you provide the visible PDF of your German ZUGFeRD invoices.
Why it matters
In Germany, the structured XML is the legal invoice. The PDF only shows its content. Both must match to be compliant. You decide who provides the visible PDF, and that sets your branding and who ensures PDF and XML match.
What’s new
You can now choose between two ways to build your ZUGFeRD PDF:
- Basware generated PDF (default). Basware creates the visible PDF from the XML. PDF and XML match by design. No sender branding appears.
- Your own PDF. Your PDF is the visible page, with the XML Basware creates embedded. Your branding shows. You make sure PDF and XML match.

This feature is available as part of the Basware Country Compliance offering for Germany. It requires a consulting service for enablement and configuration of the Germany Sending Extension service.
