Your Questions Answered: France’s 2026 E-Invoicing Mandate FAQ
France’s e-invoicing and e-reporting mandate is one of the most significant tax compliance changes in Europe—and it’s just around the corner. With a phased rollout beginning in 2026, businesses operating in France need to prepare now to ensure compliance and unlock the benefits of digital tax administration.
To help you navigate the changes, we’re hosting a live Q&A session with Virgile Vanoosten, Senior Compliance and E-invoicing Advisor at Basware, where we’ll unpack the regulation and answer your top questions.
📅 Compliance Q&A on the French Mandate
Thursday, June 26, 2025
9:00 AM – 9:45 AM EDT | 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM CEST
Understanding the Mandate
France’s e-invoicing mandate is rooted in legal order n°2021-1190, which requires VAT-liable companies to issue and report electronic invoices through a structured network. These measures aim to strengthen VAT collection, combat fraud, and improve overall economic transparency.
Starting in 2026, B2B transactions between French-established businesses must follow this new framework. By 2027, all relevant businesses will be required to comply.
Who Is Affected?
- French VAT-registered businesses issuing B2B domestic invoices
- Foreign entities with a permanent establishment in France
- Buyers receiving invoices from French suppliers may also need to adapt systems to receive structured formats.
- If your company operates in France in any capacity, these changes are likely to impact you.
