Coming soon: SmartPDF is evolving with many new functions in 2024

SmartPDF, our solution for automated invoice ingestion from PDF-invoices, has gone through several upgrades during the past years. The latest ones are coming up in the second half of 2024 and adding multiple new functions to this tool. 

Over the past few years, we have observed a more significant decline in paper invoices among our customers than ever before. Despite some geographical variations, the overall trend strongly indicates a clear shift towards e-invoicing, largely driven by the global surge of government mandates for its implementation. Although the use of paper invoices has decreased, there has been an exponential increase in PDF invoices sent via email. This indicates that companies are taking an intermediate step in streamlining their processes towards full e-invoicing adoption. In addition we see companies are using the combination of e-invoices and SmartPDF to handle all incoming invoices despite of format to reach the same data output. 

There has been impressive SmartPDF adaptations with many customers attaining over 90% full automation in PDF invoice handling in first weeks of use of SmartPDF.  The previous SmartPDF functionality introductions of AI, possibility of fast and simple self-validation and AI Instant Learning are to be followed by new functions and features soon! 

The additions to SmartPDF functions in 2024 will be: 

  • Full invoice data capture: Complete invoice header and line level data capture takes touchless invoice automation to a new level. Capturing both line and header level data from your pdf-invoice enables better downstream data use. 
  • Multi-invoice processing: Remote offices can scan all invoices into one pdf and send them to SmartPDF. Suppliers invoicing once a month for multiple events can send all their invoices in one email. 
  • Single email address receiving: Maintaining only one email address and box for incoming pdf-invoices for multiple entities saves time and reduces complexity. SmartPDF automatically identifies the company from invoice details. 
  • API for sending pdf’s: Start using SmartPDF benefits regardless of your pdf-invoice receiving channel. Both email and API can be used for pdf invoice entry to SmartPDF or the email channel can be closed. 
  • Automatic quality feedback: Enhanced constant learning of AI that benefits all SmartPDF users. When a customer makes changes in AP, the data is captured and taught to AI for future recognition in SmartPDF.
